I am excited to share with you personally our new internship program.  After 5 years of working with over 60+ business owners, helping them set-up their businesses, and training them through “trade work” on skills needed to work virtually, I have decided it is time to take this experience, and develop a structured program, that will allow the right candidates an opportunity to work on a team, learning skills they can apply to their business, all the while adding to their resume their experience in working with a coach, author and speaker.  I would love to help you create a solid foundation for your business, give you a chance to gain new skills, while strengthening your current skills, so that you can have the business you intended and dream of!

So why an internship with Patty Benton?

Patty Benton started her own virtual business, to run along the side of her husband’s web business (they founded in 1998), in 2003, after having her first child.  Her first (and still active) business, JERPAT, LLC is a Virtual Assistance business, now focused on supporting coaches, speakers, and authors in marketing and delivering their presentations.  In 2005, she started her first coaching business, JERPAT Coaching and Training founded on her signature program Failure is NOT an Option, which has now led to her current Speaking and Coaching Business, “Patty Benton”.

Before quitting to start her own business, Patty was a public school teacher.  While teaching is her gift and passion, Patty desired to stay home with her children, and being the guiding compass in their life.  She feels blessed to be able to continue utilizing her teaching gifts, through teaching and coaching.

Our Uniqueness

With Patty’s teaching background (which includes a Bachelor of Arts in Education), her programs are designed to ensure she meets the needs of each individual participant.   She knows the techniques and strategies necessary to reach every type of learner.  add that to her experience in creating and running her own business, and her passion in helping others who desire to run their own business, giving them the freedom and flexibility with their family, her programs top the list for learning and value gained.

With our internship program, we don’t just expect you to come in, put in hours, doing meaningless tasks.  Every task asked of you will not only be beneficial to us, but it will help you learn and strengthen skills for your own business.  On top of that, Patty will work with you personally to help you develop the business you intended.

What is included in the internship programs?

Aside from the valuable skills you will learn and the relationships with other like-minded team members, you will get:

What internship opportunities are currently available?

The exciting thing right now is that we actually have several openings.  Patty Benton is making  a major shift in her business through more speaking, and “reworking”  her already successful programs.  Right now you can get in on some exciting ground breaking opportunities to learn some new skills, assist at ground zero in development, and have some valuable experience to add to your business resume.  Below we have listed the positions available with a very brief description.  Just click on the positions that sound exciting to you, and get the full details.  When you know that you are ready to, completely fill out the application you can download here.

Creative Marketing Intern – A business cannot be successful without marketing, and this is the team that brainstorms, creates and executes the marketing.  From maintaining the pattybenton.com site (in WordPress), to marketing through Social Media, newsletters, and more, this team does it all, creates it all, and works closely with Patty Benton to create a solid Marketing System.

Operational Service Support Intern – The “brains” of the team, this group keeps us all organized, on task and Patty Benton on track.  This team is not for the weak at heart, as you will be the whip crackers (Patty even lends out hers when needed) to keep everyone (including Patty) on track, as well as makes sure everything is in place and working.

Membership Management Director – This position is particularly exciting, as we are creating and developing the membership program, so you will be working with Patty and her team to create this from ground-up.  This position does require someone with WordPress experience, as well as some experience with membership.

Cross Team Interns (click on the above positions to see descriptions) - We are looking for a couple of interns that are interested in splitting their time between the Creative Marketing Team and Operational Services Support Team.  As well as an intern that is interested in supporting the Membership Management Director and working with the Operational Services Support Team, so if you are interested in working on multiple teams, be sure to let us know when you apply!

What is required during my internship?

Fair question, and easy to answer.  Patty is pretty easy-going to work with, as she understands the demands of working from home, so here are her requirements:

  1. 10 – 20 hours per week to be worked according to your schedule, meeting deadlines as assigned and agreed upon by you, your team, and Patty.
  2. 6 – month minimum commitment to your position.
  3. High-speed internet access
  4. Long distance (an unlimited plan is recommended as you are responsible for all charges accrued)
  5. A quiet space to work with a computer, printer and access to a fax
  6. Weekly meetings with your team (approximately 1 – hour per week – time counts towards committed work hours)
  7. Monthly internship meetings (approximately 1 – hour per month - time counts towards committed work hours)
  8. Dedication to your position, team and Patty, with professionalism and integrity in everything you do.

Basically, we are requesting you treat us as your client, and give us your highest level of service and fulfill all your commitments!
